Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) or genetically engineered organism (GEO) is an organism whose genetic material has been altered using genetic engineering techniques. These techniques, known as recombinant DNA technology using DNA molecules from different sources are combined into one molecule to create a new set of genes. This DNA is transferred into the body, giving it new or modified genes. Genetically modified organisms, part of GMOs are organisms that insert, which originate from different species.
